Big Broadstairs Weekend
We at Marmalade were asked to design the logos banners, leaflets and posters for the Big Broadstairs Weekend.
Inspired and organised by Fiona Crawford of Helter Skelter, the whole three day event was a huge success.
Most importantly three logos were required.
An umbrella logo ‘Big Broadstairs Weekend‘, which would be the overall branding for the event. Colours of blue and gold were used to illustrate the sky and sand. Obligatory silhouettes of seagulls pepper the sky!
A logo for ‘Film on the beach‘ the first event of its kind in South East Kent, attracting over 2000 people. Many bought picnic blankets, chairs, food, drink and prepared themselves for the viewing of the Abba smash hit film Mamma Mia – on Viking beach! This logo, again using ‘sand and sky’ colours, reflected a ’50′s Drive-in feel which was so popular in America.
‘Dancing Queens‘ was the event that happened on the Sunday.
Attempting to break the Guinness World Record, 1000 people danced in sync to Abba’s hit ‘Dancing Queen’ on the Esplanade at Broadstairs Viking Bay. The logo for this was inspired by the mirror balls you would expect at a ’70′s disco. We are waiting on the results to find if indeed the world record has been broken.
You can see the logos in our Portfolio page.
We are thrilled to have been asked to participate in the design and production of the event’s promotion and publicity again next year.
